Final Portfolio Screen Design

This is a development of idea 1 from the previous week. I have decided not to use a large image as a background purely because it might not suit everyone.

I have purposefully left the design as white as possible to illustrate a blank canvas because I want to show of my work and not my website. I have used a grey text so it appears softer and less harsh against the white background.

I’m not sure how to get the image gallery to work at the moment but this should be something useful to learn for the future.

Some random spam messages have appeared on my blog comments over the past couple of weeks.

If I see them I delete them but I would advise you not to click on any link if your not sure who the auther of the comment is.

I understand why you've dropped the background, and I think it still looks nice without it, but some parts look a little bit too pale. If you bump up the contrast on all of your text by selecting a slightly darker grey / black then everything will be a little bit easier to read.

The main thing that is bugging me is the lack of a header on your site. There is no "Richard Foley" or any other type of text at the top of the page to tell you what this website is, and I think it needs that.

Other than that, I think it looks fine.

Yeah I agree with Craig I think you need a header or people won't know your name. Don't make it easy for them to forget you.

Your design looks fine but as I mentioned to Chris I think you should add a bit of detail. If you did a banner this would probably be enough. I really liked what you were working on for your i-tunes, something done in a similar style would be really attractive and effective.

I think that you definitely need a banner on the page including your name but apart from that I think you have got a really nice, clean design.

I like the gallery feature at the bottom too, this will make browsing through your portfolio fairly easy. It will be interesting to see how you accomplish this though.

I have to agree with the majority who are requesting a header for your site.

It needs an introduction to let the user know who's work they are viewing.

The minimal colour palette you have chosen is working well, maybe incorporate a lighter tint of the orange for your header.
