How do you make fire and a man with an axe look friendly?!

This is a task I created for myself after taking some images of the playhouse we are designing a website for in our team project.

I created the first vector image from one of the designs in the ball pool area of the building and the others are images of the playhouse.

Hi Richard.

I think you've achieved what you set out to do. I think it looks friendly enough.

If you want you could try adding orange/red highlights to emphasize its a flame or add little bits of smoke. Other than that I think it looks really good.

Maybe you could draw a backpack that includes these tools, rather that demonstrating their uses through actions.

I love the vectored image of the flame. Have you explored the option of alerting the thickness of the outline to taper the flame?.
You could use the calligraphy line style in Illustrator to create this effect.
